David Oliver

First let me thank your for taking the time to find out a little about me.

I was first diagnosed with diabetes back in 1995. It has been a long and exciting journey since then. Before being diagnosed, I had no symptoms whatsoever. Before a surgical procedure in 1996, I had to have some pre-op work done before surgery. A blood test was part of that pre-op work. They found that I had high glucose readings and I must consult with my primary care physician before they could do the procedure.

My journey has consisted of many ups and downs. The downs always lead me to more education and in doing so I was able to turn it into a positive. Many people who are on a similar journey don't understand that it takes many downs to be able to get your diabetes under control because education is key.

It's been 29+ years since I started this journey and I am now at a point where my glucose numbers are stabilizing in the normal range (70–100). I feel compelled to share what I’ve learned dealing with my own issues and help other achieve their goals. I am passionate about good health and staying informed on new information to pass along to others.

I now follow a Mediterranean Keto lifestyle. This lifestyle change allows me to maintain my glucose numbers as well as a heart healthy diet. I also maintain an active lifestyle which only helps in maintaining good health, stamina and longevity. I see naturopathic doctors to help me maintain my good health. My primary care physician is also a naturopathic doctor in the same practice. For those of you who are interested in finding a very good naturopathic practice here is the one I see. Collaborative Natural Health Partners in Manchester, Connecticut (https://www.ctnaturalhealth.com).
